Shrewsbury Street Pastors to host Gala Concert
The Friends of Shrewsbury Street Pastors are hosting a gala concert in association with Jigsaw Sound choir on September 21st 2019 at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The event will take place at the University Centre, The Guildhall, Frankwell Quay, Shrewsbury, SY3 8HQ, and promises to be a wonderful evening of music, supported by an array of local dignitaries.
The audience will be served wine on arrival and then treated to an evening with Jigsaw Sound, a large, mixed voice choir based in Shrewsbury, who are enjoying their 12th successful year of music making. The choir’s membership is drawn from as far afield as Church Stretton, Pontesbury, Minsterley, Welshpool, Oswestry, Wem, Market Drayton, Wellington, Telford and Much Wenlock. They regularly perform at concerts, weddings and fundraising events throughout Shropshire and over the border into Wales. This year the choir has selected Shrewsbury Street Pastors as one of its charities.
The gala evening will be rounded off with a civic reception with cheese and wine. The organisers are delighted to be welcoming a number of distinguished guests. These will include: the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, Anna Turner; the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Mark Cuthbert Brown; the High Sheriff of Shropshire Dr Josh Dixey; the Deputy Mayor of Shrewsbury, Nic Laurens; and also expected to attended is the new Bishop of Shrewsbury, Sarah Bullock.
